My old Pacman just came out of hibernation (buried since October 2015) and ate his first meal of 2016. This is the 25th year that I've had him!
Scraping off the protective layer of skin that formed over winter and eating it:
Amazing! You're doing a good job with him! What was his first meal, if I may ask, and did you record it?
Thanks! He had five small night-crawlers (all at once in one gulp!). Unfortunately I didn't record it, I wasn't sure if he was going to eat and I didn't want to disturb his first meal too much. I tried to record feeding him last night when I took these pics, but he was too busy eating his skin!
25 years is impressive, woah! Brilliant!
Pet ownership done right. Love seeing animals that haven't been rehomed 5 times. 25 years sets a pretty high bar! Beautiful frog!

Wow that's really awesome, congrats! What do you do during the whole time though? Do you continue maintaining temps and humidity? And do you clean at all?
Over winter I don't have to do too much apart from maintain the water level. There is a healthy population of worms in the substrate that do a great job of aerating it and cleaning up any dead leaves from the plants, I just bury them away from where the frog is. I put a small heater in the room to take the chill off in winter and I try to maintain a yearly temperature cycle like the frogs would see in the wild.
Wow! Congrats! 25 years . Impressive.

Where did you buy him at?
Very nice!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
