I know how you feel Elly, I've fallen in love with the North American Eastern spadefoot toad, but I've decided if I do get some, I'll make sure their priorities come first and that I'll put my personal needs aside for them. Maybe you could do the same

Spade foot (these are Couch's) toads are in my opinion the toad to get if you are looking for attractive display animals that really demonstrate all of their natural behaviors . I've heard of them going under ground for months at a time. Not sure if that may be contributed to possible husbandry errors or just individual animals. My pair is always a treat to see. They are rather bold as well.
