Poor Stupid Frog

My white's often misses the cricket and attacks my fingers instead. Last night instead of the cricket, he grabbed a leaf off a plant and actually pulled it off. I tried to pull it out of his mouth, but that only made him more determined to eat it.

I don't think transcendentia is toxic (at least to humans), but I am a little worried it could stop him up. Has anything like this ever happened to your frogs?

To be fair, most amphibians and reptiles do that. The worst (For me) was my female Bearded dragon bit me mistaking me for a super-worm, and proceeded to try her best to crush the shell of it like she usually did, not knowing it was e. Long story short, I had a bruise for a month straight afterwards

And I had a huge tortoise that loved strawberries and if your toenails were red you had BETTER not go into the enclosure barefoot LOL.

As far as the plant, I would think that if the frog can digest/pass the exoskeleton of a bug, the chitin of a non-woody plant could go through as well but not an expert on this.

Yeah I'm not worried about the biting, just the swallowing-things-whole. I'd thought that if I kept loose stuff out it would be okay, but apparently they can eat leaves right off the plant too.

I'm not too worried though.

For sure worry about swallowing things. My whites mrs.bighead swallowed 4 rocks and had to have a major procedure to remove them. 800.00 to remove the stupid rocks.

Aw, pity about Mr. Bighead, but glad you could find a willing vet.

And thank you, Bonk is adorable and not experiencing any problems after eating the leaves.

It should pass through i guess and nost likely will digest. Nust make sure you have heat and to be safe dont feed hard shelled insects like mealworms or super worms
