Please help guys! I am just baffled by this one! I checked on Kibbits this evening (as you recall, he's currently undergoing medical treatment in a quarantine tank), and I saw this!
This is the first "bowel movement" we've seen in two weeks. Remember, we are forcefeeding him (though he hasn't been eating), and giving him antibiotics/pedialyte treatments.
I apologize for the bad pictures; I was rushing them to the forum since the vet is unavailable. The sac appears like clear gelatin (no redness, no red streaks/brown streaks, no redness anywhere on the skin or tissue).
Any idea? Could this be from the pedialyte/antibiotics and it's just a clear excrement? Has anyone seen a prolapse that looks like this? Or has anyone seen anything like this when treating a sick frog?
Quick update: the sac appears to have leaked a clear liquid and deflated, like a balloon. Any ideas?
No other physical changes/behavioral changes apparent that we can see with Kibbits.
This is not a prolapse.
Well, it's not a prolapse. That would look like a round pink "balloon" hanging from the frog's vent. Not sure what this is.
Thank you so much for your quick response! We slyly observed him over the night, and it looks like he's doing the normal shedding ritual. The "sac" continued to deflate and is no longer hanging off of him. The only thing that I can think of is that he was shedding the normal gel-like stuff and liquid of some sort got caught? Just bizarre.
Again, thank you. But I suppose it remains a mystery (since not a prolapse), what it actually is. Poor little Kibbits, such diseased puzzle - green spots and strange sacs. : (
We'll keep fighting either way!

Poor little guy. I can't imagine the stress you're going through as Kibbits keeps showing these strange signs that no one has seen before!
Thank you for your thoughts! We got the cultures back yesterday, so we're waiting on a call from the vet to find out if we need an additional antibiotic. He tested positive for: 1) Slavobacterium, 2) Shewanella Tutresaciens, and 3) Alpha Hemolytic Stapococci. I tried to google them with no results.
His mint green spots are so strange! They go and come, popping up in different locations. Last night, he had a mint green stripe on his head :P
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts!
