Long story short, I have kept aquariums for over 20yrs and a few lizards here and there. My interest in fish keeping is waning and I have over the last several months sold all my fish off except one that I intend to keep. This has left me with an empty 135 gallon aquarium in my dining room. I would like to turn It into a paludarium and would like to keep some Vietnamese Mossy Tree Frogs. My plan is to have 7-8 inches of water (around 35 or so gallons), two large land areas a waterfall on each side, one side having an isolated lagoon, an Island in the middle and I intend to keep some fish in the water. I plan on making all of land areas and rocks out of Styrofoam and then adhering that to the glass. I will filter the water on both sides of the tanks and the water will be heated. My wife and I are wanting to plant some ferns, golden club moss and possibly some carnivorous plants as well. I have a few questions, does this sound like a decent setup, how many frogs could/should I keep in this setup, is there a frog better suited to this environment, are these frogs readily available enough for me to even find them?
Thanks for any help
i like the idea!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
