is my new frog ok?

Hi im new to this and owning a beautiful whites tree frog. Im concerned he may not be happy as he often can sit literally for over 24 hours in one spot and not move. Other times i know his been in the water dish as theres dirt in there, but he can go a whole day without doing this? Havent physically witnessed any feeding and switched from locusts to crickets back to locusts as i dont think his eating any of them. Mainly dead crickets i found after cleaning his tank out?!

Exactly how new is your frog? He might be stressed from the move hence the immobility. Also keep in mind that whites are nocturnal, so he will do virtually nothing all day every day. At night is when they really come alive!! If you would like to know for sure if he's eating, try hand or tweezer feeding him.

He sounds okay, frogs generally aren't really active animals, and can go a while without eating. White's tree-frogs are known for being good captives, as they seem to always want to eat. Try putting a feeding bowl in his/her set-up where its prey can't escape him/her, but the frog can get out. You'll be able to see how much it's been eating that way

Make sure to keep one in at least a 20-gallon tank or preferably an Exo Terra 18 x 18 x 24". Basking spot of around 85F with a heat lamp over a branch and a drop at night when lights are off, heat mat on thermostat on the wall can be used to maintain night temps in the upper 60s to low 70s, if needed. Use at least 5% UVB and a full spectrum bulb in the other socket. At night use something like Arcadia's Blue Moonlight LED to view them. I've found some frogs do best in at least pairs or groups and will feed better when they've got competition for food. Locust and super worms are favourites for most frogs so try them, feed at night when the frog will be active. I use Repashy's Calcium Plus LoD for dusting my treefrogs food, goes on every feed lightly. Make sure to provide hides such as artificial trailing plants and a cork bark piece leaned against the wall, give them the opportunity to regulate their UV exposure. I second the feeding bowl. That should help you determine how much your frog is eating. They can go a long time without eating but you don't want them to go too long and get weak.
Also checking the temperature is good.
Other than that, your frog could be new to being around people a little afraid of you. I had one that refused to come out around me for the first couple of months.
If he's specifically sitting in the water bowl, soaking for 24 hours that may be a sign of illness.
