Hey guys do whites tree frog shed because Mine had dirt on it and i pulled it off but it was just dirty loose skin that was really thin and clear. Also if so Should i pull it off or let it fall off?
All frogs shed but I wouldn't pull it off I know it's gross but they will usually eat it afterwards
ok i dint see him eating it
Anyone know how to tell the gender of whites tree frog
Hey guys an another frog other than a whites tree frog live with a whites tree frog? maybee a pacman frog or something that wouldnt eat my whites or my whites wouldnt eat it. any ideas? my whites is about a year so i know i should find a similar sized frog but not one that wont grow.
As far as gender, it's really hard to tell. You'll have to wait and see if your frog starts calling. Also frogs have different levels of toxins in their skin. It might be possible to combine species safely, but only for people who know for sure that one frog won't slowly make another sick. Pacmans in particular get big enough to eat White's and if a frog can eat another frog it won't hesitate to do it. I suggest getting another White's if you want a second frog.
sounds good but ive heard you can tell by baggy throat . his throat is not baggy however ife seen it blow up so i dont really know, and it at least isnt super baggy
Yeah, darker throats can be the way to tell. Usually frogs don't get darker or baggy throats until they've started calling. If its throat inflated you probably have a male.
sounds good because i've been calling him my wittle boy/boi
For the mixing I wouldn't put a pacman frog in with any other frog, frogs are one of the most common things these guys will eat in the wild. When he was big enough I could almost 100% guarantee that it would try to eat the whites if it happened to stroll by him. And if the pacman was to small to swallow it you could end up with 2 dead frogs or a dead frog and really injured tree frog. Because of the pacmans 2 big bottom teeth in the front of there mouth it sometimes prevents them from spitting large food items out so the frog ends up chokeing because the only option is for the meal to go down. This is actually the purpose of them, to help bigger meals from escaping. Unfortunately they sometimes bite of more then they can chew, or I guess you could say swallow.
Since I dont have an unlimited food source and crickets die quick, I can't always get food for him on his feeding days. He grew up only eating crickets so when I bought hime, I was told he might not recognize mealworms as food. Is there an alternate food source for him? I am hoping to get something that wont die while I have it.
