Is it possible to find those reed-like vines in your area? In wooded places? I know they're all over here in the south, and can be bent like those vines you buy in stores. I use those.

If not, what about some tubing and then some safe foam around it for texture? I've never actually thought of making them but I wonder if the same materials use to make rocks could go around something flexible?
