Any way to avoid dusting crickets?

Any reason why you don't want to dust the crickets? The problem with depending on the cricket diet is that there's no way to know whether the crickets have excreted the calcium before being eaten or not. It's not hard to dust. Just get a 32 ounce (tall) deli cup, put some calcium in the cup, add crickets and shake.

Well I guess it's because I started off hoping the Zoo Med food would work out and when that failed, I was kind of stuck in that mentality. I guess if that's the only way, I'll have to do it though. Thanks for the response.

Hi, as mentioned above even when gut loading your crickets with calcium its still highly recommended to dust to make sure hes getting all his vitamins. And he also needs a multivitamin, not sure if you knew that. And they have to be given on separate days, Repashy calcium plus is very good brand and actually has all 3 vitamins in one.

You have to dust even if you have gut loaded the crickets. You even need do dust upto every feed with young frogs as they need a lot of calcium, which in the wild they would receive from eating a wide variety of prey, probably more like other frogs or small reptiles, mammals or fish, rather than crickets. I use Repashy's Calcium Plus which has been designed to use at every single feed as it has a more balanced vitamin content.

Ah right, I forgot. See, this is why that Zoo Med formula would have been good, too bad I wasted money on that now. Oh well, I guess it can't be helped :/

You could use the pacman food it will contain everything apparently but for me I would always feed live food and in that case it should be supplemented or you could use both the pacman food and then some crickets every other feed or so

I also prefer to give live food because this is whats natural to them in the wild, and the variety of feeders you can give them I believe would be healthier for them. And my guys if its not moveing in a natural way they wont take it. But all in all as Jason said you can use the pacman food, I know of others that use it.

Yeah, I did buy the Pacman Frog food to make life easier, but like I said, she doesn't eat it. So I'm going to have to stick with the old fashioned way.
