    Default project nightmare

Well. Our trio of whites grew far faster than expected. So were building them a big ol lifetime home. Its still in its beginning stages. Going to make basks, planter ledges, soak ledges, install leds under the ledges for plant growth, make the one side a heat panel, controls, loooong way to go. Hoping to squeeze a little umbrella tree in there for the main plant.

    Ooooooh boy.

Theres where we stand so far. Up in the air what to skin it with. Made from every board scrap i had lmao. Darn it i have to spend money on it now...

Cant wait to see it done, I believe its going look good different. Is that a small beer fridge door? I imagine you to be like me, were you walk through store a and look around and half the stuff your looking at you picture it with frogs or something in it and how cool it would look as viv/terrarium. I drive my mother crazy doing this, she always tells me stay focused and stop thinking about frogs and my kids are behind me laughing because dads getting in trouble by grandma about his frog addiction.

I thought that's what it was. LMAO. and I must say with the way they seal when shut that's a good idea, no heat escaping out that door.

I'm curious with these wood frame builds on how you keep the wood from rotting from all the moisture? Do you treat the wood with something?

So far its cabinet grade plywood. Rubber gasketed screws. A few coats of thompson deck sealer. Then all the wood gets hidden in the foam. 0 exposed inside the tank. This time around we are going to use mortar or drylock for a different effect than silicone and eco earth. The wood on the outside(i still havent decided what to use to skin it) doesnt much matter. To seal the door jamb i am using stainless steel step flashing and silicone.

The wife wants me to make it look like an old coca cola cooler. I have the galvinized already but ugh man. Fml.

I cheated, built it around an aquarium. My foam seals over the edge of the tank. Mwa ha ha cheater cheateeeeeeeer.
