Talking Hello from the UK :D

Hello my name is Lance i am from UK just in case you hadn't already worked it out :P
I currently own one pacman/horned frog called Froug I've had him for roughly 2 months or so, he is housed in a 5 gallon tank with a water bowl for soaking, a cave for hiding/burrowing in and a small live plant to keep humidity inside the enclosure i have a small heat mat at one end of the tank to allow him to thermoregulate.
He/she exhibits all the normal behavior that people have said on these threads for example: He burrows daily during the day and crawls out evening for food( i am feeding him medium sized crickets with vitamin power coating) or for a bath, he doesn't seem to be as timid as most peoples as he is quite happy to sit above ground during the day he eats everything hes given(even if he's chased it round the tank lol), i have a little dim lit lamp next to his enclosure which i'll switch on during the evening for a couple of hours before bed.
Please don't hesitate to correct me on anything if I'm doing something wrong, i check on him every time i walk by to make sure he is okay and he is fed about 2-3 crickets a day let me know if this is too much or not enough, i have such a paranoia that he's ill because one day he didnt bath or day he didnt burrow so i am very caring for my little Froug
Thanks for taking the time to read this, Lance (i also will get some pictures of his enclosure and him when my camera is fixed lol)

Hi and thanks for replying! When i got him he was a baby(about the size of a 50p piece) he's grown a little since then so a new tank for him was on the list along with a slightly bigger heating mat and will most likely use the old 5 gallon for a new baby frog
    Cheers again for replying

Welcome to the forum Lance. Everything sounds good but as mentioned bigger tank is always better. Remember to supplement with calcium that contains D3, I use repashy calcium plus. As I recommend with everyone, there's a book out there called AVS Chacoan Horned Frogs, it's a must for every Horned frog keeper and you can get it off the apple store cheap and quick!

Thanks for the warm welcome, it's nice to meet such a friendly community

Bigger tank is go soon and i'll also pick up a copy of that book on my next payday also I've been using Nutrobal for lightly dusting my crickets, is this okay to use for pacmans?

Here are some pictures of Froug and his enclosure, i also took a pic to show the nutrobal and how my crickets are kept

Is your heat matt on the inside? if so you want to take it out and place it on the outside. If it isn't hooked up to thermostat or rheostat of some sort if that matt malfunctions or something and he is beside it there is a good chance he may get burned. WE must always remember our froggies have very sensitive skin.
