Rusty Screen Lids. Prevention?

Just remove the metal mesh and replace it with fiberglass screening, just like you would do a replacement on a home window. It even works the same way. You may need to replace the cord as well, it never comes out in one piece.

Stupid exo terra. Stainless screen my rosy red irish a.... we replaced ours with stainless window screen last year. Considering a coarser mesh for better light/uv penetration. Maybe some better airflow. But then how do you keep the crickets in?
