Sorry for your loss. I hope this doesn't put you off frogs as pets.

I am so very sorry to hear of Leo's passing. We could tell how much you loved him and I am sure he knew that, too.

That just sucks! I thought for sure the Lamisil would do the trick and I am so sorry for your loss. Just take some solace in the knowledge that you did the best you could for him.

    Again, I am so sorry.

This hasn't put me off frogs as pets, of course not.
I am just, a lot more upset than I first thought that I would be when I brought him home last September. I never expected to get this attached to the little guy and now he's gone. Just like that. I loved him just as much as anybody would have loved a dog, or cat, or any other common house pet. I feel so guilty right now, because I could have started treating him so much sooner, had I not been so naive. It's so hard to let go. I'm grieving, but in the end- I hope to find a frog just like him again, someday. No frog will ever replace him, he'll always be my first amphibious friend. I do miss him so much though. This house seems so empty without him. Thank you for your sympathy, guys.

Well one thing you can take form this experience is the knowledge of what to do next time this happens. So think of it as a learning experience.

An extremely painful, painful learning experience.
I don't think I have ever felt THAT helpless before. He was just wasting away. I will definitely remember this. All of you are so sweet, thank you for your sympathies. It means a lot. I hope that my mother invests in another WTF, because Leo was fabulous. My mother and two brothers and I sat down and had a good cry- and decided that when we were ready, we would find ourselves another little White's to care for.

I'm only happy that he's no longer in any pain.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I would have posted earlier, but I'm going through the same thing with my Kibbits : ( Little Leo will be in my thoughts. It sounds like he was very much loved.

I am so sorry you lost Leo. I am a new frog owner and I also am surprised how attached you get to the little guys.

    Thanks, both of you.
Malinda, Tree Frogs are phenomenal pets. At first, you think that they won't have any more gravity on you than a fish, but then you realize that they all have individual personalities and individual, unique curiosities and quirks- and you come to the conclusion that White's Tree Frogs are just as inquisitive and intelligent as any other pet. You come to love them and adore them for the little critters that they are. The same goes for any other frog. They are all unique and sweet and beautiful. You grow attached whether you try to, or not. I loved Leo and I am sure that you will grow to love your frog.

    Igby,
I'm so sorry to hear that Kibbits is suffering, I will certainly pray for him- and hope that he fairs better than Leo did. Just keep a positive attitude. Always stay close and do everything you can- I hope that he makes it through. Good luck, buddy.

I will still be on Frog Forum, that way if I can, I'll be able to give maybe a little bit of advice, based on the experiences I had with Leonidas. You guys are the best, and when I get a new frog one day- I promise you will all see pictures of him/her and we will start a new chapter in my amphibious obsession.
