That's fine man. I have a male too never heard him call though, definitely a funny noise as I've heard on YouTube! Also remember heat mat on side (make sure there's no background infront or behind it) rather than underneath

I noticed you're in the U.K. So if you have any problems or that I'm well obsessed with the care of horned frogs as I plan to breed them so just leave you're number and I can phone you answering most questions you may have
IF hes calling and this just started around the same time that might be what it is, hes looking for a lady friend. Being how old and big he is I would still recommend giving him some more room but from after reading the calling part in your post I bet you that's what it is. He wants some love.

In order to call he may have been exposed to incorrect conditions but when corrected have stimulate him to be rather horny!

Fair enough I find they work although people say that basking lamps should never be used with amphibians (shut up and sit down) but make sure humidity is correct. Sphagnum moss is a life saver but watch for impaction! Also provide a photoperiod being light and dark, full spectrum for 10-12 hours will accomplish this and help with feeding

see i heard sphagnum moss shouldnt be used or UV why we use multi vit and calcium D3 also light form the window will do due to these animals being on the forest floor
