It's probably not safe to order frogs in the winter, is it? Or will it not matter since they'll be shipped overnight?

If I remember right it has to be above 35 it, may be 40. They pack them good though and put heat packs in with them if it is cold

It depends how far away you live. I bought mine in November when it was chilly and they shipped with a heat pack.

I still would like to give the White's Tree Frog a try as well. Would one or two be okay in a 12x12x18 Exo-terra terrarium?

A 12x12x18 is too small for whites. They grow fast and large. I would recommend a minimum of an 18x18x24 for a pair.
