My 8 month old GABF is getting ready to move to a new enclouser. I want to set it up to have a good sized water area as well as a land area. How would i separate the water from the substrate? I dont have a plexi glass divider readily avaliable so i was wondering if there would be another way to do it. I also would want a filter for the water area, what should i get? Any help woul be appreciated, and if you have a water/land setup some pictures would be super helpful as well!
I started out my set up in a 10 gal set up and I got a refrigerator drawer thing from target ($4.99) and placed it on one side of the thank and had my soil mixture lead up to it. I lined that "hill" with stones so that way he would not want to dig and burry him self there.

Now that I have a 30 gallon tank I have the same thing in there but I was thinking of finding a larger thing for his cage. I like it because it is easier to take out and clean and I can move it and not get goop stuck to my cage. that's just my opinion tho.

These set ups are great for gabf! It's the only way I'd want to keep them (except for as small babies). I have a 40 gallon breeder set up for my adult male. It's about 70% water and 30% land. I had a piece of glass cut to size at the hardware store. It's about 5 inches, so the water is nice and deep and the frog can burrow in the land side. I glued it into place with aquarium silicone and I siliconed a piece of airline tubing onto the exposed glass top to make it safe for the frog. I believe it had to cure for 2 days before I could add water.
I use a tetra whisper 40i internal power filter. It keeps the water clear, but isn't strong enough to remove the big chunks of frog poo so I have to skim those out.
I would show a photo, but the uploader isn't working for me.
Uploaded the pictures to an online source then post the link. That's what I did. The pix were not working at first but they should be fine now. I would love to see ur setup. Mine is in a 30gal breeder and I want to change it up a bit.
@ShAnimal I love that setup! I definitely would like to set up something similar for my guy when we move into the next (bigger) apartment.
U will get there one day!
Sorry to thread jack, but would a 20 gallon tank (tall) be too big for a baby bullfrog??
