RETF loss of eye pigment

No, definitely not his eye membrane. I have had my two colonies for over a year and been around Red Eyed Tree Frogs off and on for a few decades. He's active and visiting the feeding station at night when his pupils are large as they should be and you can see the thin ring of silver around his pupil at night when it should be a thin ring of red. If I wake him during the day to check his eyes he opens his eyes fully and they look as you would expect with a slit of a pupil but the rest of the eye is a bright white/silver instead of red.

I've had an answer. I discussed it with the best exotics vet that I have personally ever dealt with. As it happened she was on her down to London Zoo for a meeting that included two renowned amphib vets. They looked at photo and discussed the case and care history. The reply I have received includes the main comments of "Neither have seen anything like it, they read your history you sent me and said sounds great. Cornea looks intact. Javier did say that they can do strange things and can change colouration, he would monitor. I can do ophthalmic exam but think all would be normal. if acting normally etc maybe best to monitor?"

So it seems to be just one of those weird anomalies. He is hunting as normally tonight and seems totally well. Go figure!

Thanks for the update. Without any image to look at it, it was pretty impossible to tell by description alone what might be going on.

Wasnt there another of these threads. Swear i saw a pic of it. The eye turned grey like what you'd see on a blue/silver whites tree frog yes?

The frog is doing great, everything normal behaviour wise. Weirdly one of the others had the same change in their eyes recently, again this one is acting normally. Obviously I pulled all the others out of that enclosure and have got them in individual Exo Terra's spread around the place. The other group, the females, are in another part of the house too. I now have quite a few exo terra's going to monitor individual frogs and one with a group in totally separate.
