Hi guys,
I have had my pacman frog for about a year now with no problems. However, within the last two days he has developed what looks like a blister (the inside is not hard) on the side of his face beneath his eye, it is pretty good sized too. I have pics but I can't manage to post them here, the forum won't reconize the files for some reason. I think the problem is related to when Iplaced him in a bit of dechlorinated warm water to help him shed his skin since it was taking longer than normal. That was two days ago and it worked, the skin came right off when I touched it, and I placed him back in his tank without issue. I admit that I did not wear laytex gloves when I did this, I just washed my hands instead - something that I regret now!In this thread
I found on a pacman with a similar problem (http://www.frogforum.net/showthread.php?t=27537), someone said it was a skin infection, but they didn't give anymore information about it. Should I wait a day or two to see if it goes away on its own or take him to the vet? I am inclined to take him in – but is it an emergency? If anyone has dealt with this before or has any advice I would really appreciate it!
Thanks :-)
Anytime you notice something like this it would be safe bet he will need a vet. It could be something similar to a cyst and may need to be lanced or if it is some kind of skin infection again he will need a vet for antibiotics. Or with it being under the eye it could be the start of serious eye infection. So yes I would say he will more then likely need a vet visit.
