What kind of frog or toad is this?

He's since been released but we found him in a yard in colorado. We also have woodhouse toads and they're usually about the size of a quarter but this one is like the size of a small fist. I think it's just an adult woodhouse toad but my brother thinks it's a frog. He had webbed feet. So what is it and how old is it? How do (will) they survive the colorado winter where the temperature sometimes gets well below 0 degrees fahrenheit? Thanks.

I do believe this is a Woodhouse Toad.

Toads usually survive the winter months by burrowing deep into the soil below the frost line. It's difficult to determine the age of this particular toad. If I had to guess, I'd say maybe 1-2 years old.

I agree that this is probably a Woodhouse Toad. I also have numerous small ones, but occasionally one or two get large. As far as the webbed feet go, these toads have them, it's just hard to see the webbing on the small ones.
