How big is he? ACFs and ADFs are known to float on occasion. I haven't spent as much time observing fully grown ACFs, though, so I am not sure if they do it once they get larger (and heavier), although it would make sense. It's just a kind of "chill" position where they can keep their nose out of the water and breathe for a time without expending any energy. If the frogs look healthy and are eating normally, I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with jclee-mine would float until something would startle them and they would shoot down, hide for a bit, and then swim back up and do it again. I put a fake plastic floating plant with broad leaves on top and the frogs would love to hide and chase each other under the leaves! As long as he is eating and is still startled if you reach out to touch him or something happens nearby, I am sure he is fine.

jclee-when I had ACFs, the bigger they got, the less their whole bodies would float at the top. Instead, they would do what I called the "Zen Hug": up on their tippy toes on their back legs, standing straight up, with their front limbs spread wide open. It was very cute. Or, now that I think about it, maybe they were begging for more food??? Lol

I am not an albino anything fan (the red eyes kinda creep me out), but my local pet store has several albino ACF and I am seriously fighting the urge. However, once my tadpole fully morphs and is moved into a 25 gallon, I, too, will have an empty 10 gallon......I say an empty 10 gallon is a lonely 10 gallon...I think there is an ACF out there really needing, wanting, craving even, a new home with you...
