    Question AFD newbie!

    Heya,
so i'm zoe aka shawtee, and i have a 6 gallon tank. atm i have 8 guppies in my tank and 1 african dwarf frog! people have told me that i should have bought about 3 of the fellas though, noone told me about this at the pet shop.
i came on this forum because i don't know what the right thing to do is:
    a) buy 2 more
but then would that lead to over crowding?
    b) get rid of him

plus he's now jus splaying out at the top of the tank and has spent the first two days hiding under rpocks and stuff x he doesnt seeem to eat fish flakes but i fed him some mosquito larvae and he took a couple of worms!
    please help x

Back when I had these little frogs (granted, that was about 10 years ago now!!), I kept a minimum of three and at one point I had 7. If I had to choose, I would get rid of a couple of guppies and replace them with another frog or two.

Once they get more comfortable in their surroundings, he/she will become more active. The fish might make it nervous too. Just a heads up: my ADFs would eventually chase and nip at the beautiful guppy tails when I kept the two species together. Eventually, I just had a small tank with guppies and a small tank with just frogs so that the poor fish would not be stressed. Best of luck to you!

I've read that they should have at least 3 gallons per frogs, and I don't think I would populate a tank any more densely than that, especially since there are fish in the tank already. The ADFs I've had in the past were quite active, so tiny though they are, it may be best to give them some space.
