Hey I live in Scotland and at my mums house so the room temps is on the cold side. The frog seems perfectly fine as far as I can see and does better with it on the bottom, eating and pooping better. I also provide a thick layer of substrate and he never burrows completely down to the glass. They must sense heat well though, as I said it sat next to the side wall on the glass next to the heat mat when it was there. I think maybe some burn causes came from the mat not being stated or using a gauge thermometer which won't measure the temperature cos the heat mat does not raise the ambient. I'm just gonna do what I'm doing. I've kind of stopped reading care sheets online when I can find books by reputable people as online is conflicting information that is quite stressing and me stressing out will make me fiddle about with my set ups and stress the frog.
