How to make sure that fruit flies are flightless?

Okay, if you have read my how to care for cricket frogs post, you will know that my little Eastern Northern Cricket Frog (Yes, I know the species now ) Is a fully morphed froglet. Now I need to go out and get him some flightless fruit flies, but the only problem is the last couple of fruit flies I got ACTUALLY COULD FLY! I bought them from both Petsmart and Petco, and bought different brands, but all of them flew away into our house. Is there any way to tell if the next batch of fruit flies are flightless, or will I have to wait and see?

There's no visual way. It's just a wait and see deal. I've gotten ff at petco numerous times and never had any fliers. Sounds like a batch got mixed and the genetics reverted back if you did.

Yeah, that makes sense. Hopefully I won't get any flyers like the last time...

If you're getting them at petco, open the container first. If anybody says anything, explain what happened previously and they should be fine with it.

Well right before I was going to get him pinhead crickets, he just spontaneously died. I don't know how he did, but he randomly kicked the bucket, and thanks for the help everyone, it helped me a lot when he was still alive
