Staple diets

That's usally what I do , staple is night crawlers. I've also been giving him mealworms but I've looked at there nutritional value and there are better things. Is it bad to feed them mice when there young ?

How young is he exactly can you post a picture? I started feeding mine "small" mice around 10-11 months. I worried about impaction for my frogs so that is why I waited with mice for a while.
