    Default June bug and toad

Hey I was wondering if anyone else feed June bugs to their toads? I am talking about fully grown Fowler's, American, and Southern toads. Also by june bug I mean this thing:

I have them all over here where I live and I just recently lost my job so its kind of hard crickets right now from the bait shop, so I tend to get them from outside for now. I see the june bugs more than I see crickets right now though. Either that or does anyone feed cave crickets to their toads? Got a ton of them also.

I don't think that's a june bug. June bugs are more of orange or dark brown colour and you will really only see them at night. I don't know what that beetle is but if you decide to feed them to your frog I wouldn't give to many, im thinking the toads may have a hard time digesting the hard outer shell and they may cause impaction.

Not a june bug, as Cory said. Most beetles are too high in chitin, which, as Cory said, could lead to impaction. Feed them night crawlers if you can't afford the crickets (make sure they aren't red wigglers, although some toads will eat those too.) You can collect them in an area that you know is free of pesticides and fertilizers, or buy them fairly cheap.

Well I have to admit when I was wrong, and yep your right it is june bug I was wrong. I can honestly say I have never seen or heard of a green june bug but even if you google it the green one is the first picture that comes up on images. Don't plan on seeing one either because i cant stand those things. It drives me crazy when I can hear the darn thing but cant see it. L.O.L
