Thank you for the info, do you think it could possibly be a male due to the size of the head?
How can you tell it is Adspersus? I would think it would be too young to tell? I am curious because I am still trying to learn how to identify and sex these frogsHere is part of a post by PyxieBob from a while back describing the differences between the two:
Pyxicephalus adspersus
- Upper jaw withour irregular vertical pale bars
- No white spot on tympanum (ear drum)
- No pale interorbital bar
- Distance from eye to tympanum is about twice the diameter of the eye
Pyxicephalus edulis
- Upper jaw with irregular pale bars
- White spot on tympanum
- Distance from eye to tympanum is about the same as the diameter of the eye
