Thank you for the information. I was curious and may go with someone else if/when I do another viv. I now have four seemingly happy frogs. They do seem to be eating because I now know they are pooping. Timing is everything because when Chipmunk told me what to look for, I found several sets of droppings. Hopefully they are from multiple frogs and not just one.
Yesterday, July 11th, I went to Omaha Zoo and enjoyed seeing two separate displays on dart frogs. During a behind-the-scenes tour, I was told the keepers try to do various activities to break the monotony of captivity, including dart frogs. An example of such an activity with regular pets is putting peanut butter inside a cong toy for dogs. I was told that the frog keepers poke holes in film canisters and put feeder insects inside them to encourage problem-solving behavior in the frogs. It sounds interesting, to at least us humans, and not completely sure it actually works with frogs. I am curious enough to try once I get them into their permanent living quarters. We will see. As an experiment, I put a piece of sweet potato, that I am using to culture isopods into their quarantine chamber. The potato "shell" did have some baby isopods in it. I am curious if they will see and hunt them.
I am definitely keeping them in quarantine for at least another full week. That will put 3 in there for 3 weeks and one for 2. They seem to be getting along great, so far. Two of the first three seem to have bonded and hang out/hide together. Very interesting. Thinking maybe I should do a blog of some sort tracking their behavior. But it sounds like a lot of work.
Thank you again for all the suggestions, information, assistance and support.
