I've been getting crickets at PetCo. If I ask for medium, I seem to get a few large and a bunch of small every time. The frogs seem to like the bigger ones best. After measuring better, my 2 frogs are right at 2 inches, and right at 3 inches. I'm worried to ask for large crickets, because I've seen some of them that would qualify as extra large in the tanks at the store, and I'm not sure my frogs could eat them.
If I put a cricket in the tank that was too big, would anything happen? Could my frogs choke on it (that's probably a stupid question, I'm sure). Can the crickets hurt my frogs in any way?
also, I've had them a month and have no idea of their age. One has very few white spots (the smaller one) and the other has quite a bit more, but certainly is covered or anything.
I know juveniles need to eat every day, so that's how I've been feeding them. They certainly are nowhere close to getting overweight, but I'm not sure of their age or when to start feeding less often. They readily eat each night, but usually only one or two crickets, max.
