I'm not kidding. These set my older male Gray Treefrog (Hyla versicolor) off like clockwork. They probably wouldn't have the same effect on Hyla chrysoscelis. As I learn more I will add to this list. Most of this is from having the TV on.
- "Paris is Burning" - Ladyhawke
- "Amapola" - Andrea Bocelli
- Ambulance Sirens on TV

Speaking of grays and music, have a listen to the intro for "Dance of Death" on Iron Maiden's Death on the Road. You may hear a familar voice or two.
My H. chrysoscelis seem to try and bury themselves in the substrate when Ministry's In Case you didn't feel like showing up LIVE comes on the player.
The Kraftwerk box set set off my lone male, and thus allowed me to positively sex him....lol
My versicolor like when I sing and my green tree frogs love it even more when I sing they wount shut up. When I run the vacume the greens get loud and wount shut up.
Turns out they like to sing along with The Revolting C*cks, Butthole Surfers, Soul Coughing, The Soup Dragons, and the Pogues and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult too!
Oddly enough, they get quiet when the wfie puts the Smiths on...

I guess H. chysocelis just have better taste in music....
On that note...have any of your collection responded to recorded calls?
My versicolor do. The only other frog species I keep right now is African Bullfrogs and my male appears to be indifferent to his own call.

My chrysoscelis responds to recorded calls, he also pipes up on his own regularly. I have good luck getting the native versicolors to talk to me with a few recordings on my cell phone in the spring and summer as well.
