So one of my pacman frogs is getting to the size where I could probably start feeding it a pinkie every once in a while. In your opinion are they worthwhile? Or is it unnecessary to feed pinkies?

I wouldn't bother with pinkies. I would stick with dusted crickets, dubias and nightcrawlers.Frogs have a harder time digesting mammalian tissue. Good treat items would be silkworms, hornworms, butterworms etc.

Yeah, I was leaning to that thinking as well.

If you do feed pinkies, no more than one per month as their high fat content can cause liver and eye problems. I occasionally give my pac a mouse when the snakes refuse it, but typically she gets nightcrawlers. If you don't have other herps IMO it's not worth the trouble to bother buying mice just for a pacman.

Pinkies are actually very good for frogs when fed correctly, especially if you plan on breeding.

What is feeding correctly?![]()
I am sure that you know, but for just anybody browsing, it is feeding good, healthy and appropriate foods that have calcium dust occasionally

Thanks for the responses everyone! I haven't seen any thread on that specifically so I'm glad I started it to inform people (and me). 🐸

They were talking about mice not other foods!
