Good evening everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me put an ID on these guys? Im really wondering if these are Caatingas(Joazeirenses) or just normal Cranwelli. Im having a hard time because they both look similar to pics of Caatingas when you google them. Im really hopeing at least one is. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Nevermind I think I have found the answer. The guy at the store here told me they came from a place called the frog ranch and I was just reading that they don't breed or carry the Joazeirenses (Caatingas). The lipstick is just a C.canwelli morph and I believe the rainbow is a fantasy. I think im going to get the fantasy on Friday. I got my albino from the same shop so I assume it came from the frog ranch and he/she is healthy as can be, but I was wondering anyway what other people have heard about this frog ranch place.
I confirm they are Pacman frogs, lol. Sorry I don't know anything else about them. Nice colors though.
I found out today what kind the first pic is 100%. I called Kim at the frog ranch and talked directly to him and he clarified for me that it is just a cranwelli morph. Im still going to buy it on Friday because I think it is a very nice looking frog. And I have seen and held him and it looks healthy and he fed him a cricket and he had a great feeding response. Cant wait, going to put his home together tonight.
The second one looks a lot like a fantasy. The first one looks like an ornate.
I knew the first one wasn't an Ornata right away. I was thinking more of Joazeirenses for both at first because these look similar to a few pictures I seen but I found out the other day from reading the frog ranch website that they don't breed this kind so that ruled that out right away. The second one on his website is labeled as a Cranwelli ( the morph name is lipstick), the rainbow one however wasn't on there so that's why I called the frog ranch personally and was lucky enough to have Kim the owner answer the phone. After some discussion with him we sorted it out that it is just one of his nice Cranwelli morphs.
Cool!
Now looking at the first one again, I can't see the false eyes.
They are both C. cranwelli 100%, and I knew from the minute I seen them they were not Ornata. No eye spots and yes the pattern doesn't match. The guy I talked to on the phone today is the guy that breeded these frogs. If you go look at the frog ranch website there is a picture of the lipstick morph on there.
