Caught one of my fantasies at the end of shedding, just finishing his front legs so figured i'd grab a video (sorry, it's a little long!)

How long does it usually take your pacman to shed? I feel like mine has been shedding for a while.
It's usually pretty quick, this guy had pushed all his skin to behind his eyes when I found him and by the time I had gone downstairs, grabbed the camera and run back up he was done, apart from the front legs. If yours is taking a while a soak in a little warm water should help
Mermaid Heather what is the humidity in your tank? If its not humid enough it could also cause him to have a harder time shedding. And if your gauge is reading correct maybe it is no more good and giving you a false reading. If its digital it could even be just the battery needs replacing. Not saying this is the case its just a suggestion.
I was actually told by the pet store that I did not need to mist, have a heat source, or anything for this guy. I have since found out this isn't entirely correct. Two days ago I bought a thermostat and humidity reader, just to see if changes did need to be made, especially going into cooler weather. The temp is 76 degrees F, and the humidity tends to go between 65-85.
I have only had him for about 3 weeks. I also noticed he doesn't burrow?
Darn petstores that's very incorrect info, your humidity isn't to bad but you want it to stay in between 70-80%. I keep mine around 75%, and you also don't want big fluctuations or he may not like it. Your heat is way to cold, try and get it up to the 80's. 82f is perfect, he may not be burrowing because its not warm enough to make him want to cool off. and let it drop a few degrees at night, lets say around 78f.
Thanks so much! I got him a heater today, and attached it to the side of his tank.
I do have another question. How do you keep the humidity stable? This is with me misting 2 times a days that I have those fluctuations.
You can cover 2/3 of the screen top with tin foil or saran wrap, IMO the foil works way better. It will also help a lot to keep the heat in. Or you can buy a fogger and hook it up to a hydrotherm and control the humidity that way, but either way if you don't already have the top covered it will help both ways. You don't have the top covered the fog will dissipate pretty quickly. Hope I said that right.
I understand what you are saying. I will be giving that a try now. Thanks so much for all of the help.
