If I grow moss (moss slurry) in the crevices of a styrofoam background, would I risk impaction? Also, can I use treated (herp. H20 conditioner) for both soaking and fogging? Hard h20 spots on the glass maybe??
I wouldn't put the moss in but that's just me, I always take the better safe then sorry route. But if its up on the wall just filling in cracks I don't see it being a huge problem, just watch for pieces over time that come loose or look like its going to fall, I would just pull off so it doesn't fall to the substrate. The only way I can see him digesting if it is up on the wall is if a piece fell close to him and he sees the movement and decides to try and eat it thinking its food. And the way I am even just that little possibility would make me not put it in there, but all in all that is the only problem I could think of. For the fogger I wouldn't recommend using anything but distilled in it because the hard water build up will eventually give you problems. I don't use a fogger but ii have heard from numerous people to use distilled. For your soaking dish I have never heard of that product but if its for herps I imagine it would be ok, don't use the distilled in the soaking dish, just in the fogger. I use a product called Reptisafe with just my regular hard water from the tap for his soaking dish and mist with r/o water to stay clear of hard water spots on the glass.
Thanks. When I said herp h20 conditioner, that was short for reptile/amphibian water conditioner. Lol
Well that would be good a reason I had never heard of it before.
