Thread: Plant cleaning question

    Default Plant cleaning question

So I just got a few plants and some moss from Joshs Frogs. I was wondering what's the best way to clean them before I put them in my Red eyed tree frog tank. Do not have the frog yet!

There should be more about this in the vivariums section, but you can rinse the plant off roots and all, put a drop or two of bleach in water and give the whole plant a quick dip, then wash the whole thing well in dechlorinated water.

It should be noted, that you should use cool (not cold, not hot) water. Then follow elly's advice, which is spot on

I can't tell you how many people I have seen kill plants from running them under hot water.

Yes, but skip the bleach part. A lot of mosses do not like bleaching and never recover. Just rinse very well.
