    Default just bought a fluval 403 for 10 dollars. help me trouble shoot this thing and prep it for my pyx.

    I know very little about these things. i think everything is there. when i plug it in its quite loud. also how should i clean it?

    I am not familiar with that model. I am assuming it is a aquarium filter. If you are plugging it in without having water in it will make a lot of noise.

    Possible pump coupler. Just time and pictures for clean/assembly lol. Couplers are cheap

    I read the impeller should be replaced annually. correct?

    I've used fluval filters for a long time, including the 403. I've never replaced an impeller unless it was broken.

    Define loud. Are you running it dry?

    yea i just ran it for about 10 seconds when i picked it up. what should i do to clean it

    Cleaning it is easy, just wash everything out with hot water. The impeller will be loud when it is not pushing water. That's actually considered normal.
