Substrate?

I was planning on doing a live planted tank. I Also was thinking about doing hydro balls then eco earth and then some coco husk,and moss. Some moss. I was planing on doing a water fall with a like damp section. I already ordered those, why is abg mix better?

Abg provides your plants with the necessary nutrients and drainage. Coco husk would be bad on top because accidental ingestion would likely lead to impaction and/or prolapse. You could use those materials to make your own abg mix though. If you do a search, you should be able to find a recipe. How were you planning to do a waterfall? Stand alone or through the substrate/drainage layer? You don't want boggy substrate, it's a breeding ground for bacteria.

I was planning on putting my pump order some like gravel/rocks and then put a little moss on that and have a tiny bit of standing water but mainly have like a drip to trickle flowing. And also could I private message you or do something so I could ask you a few more questions?

You can PM me. You will want to do a false bottom with a defined water area though. With that size tank, it would just bog it all up.

I highly recommend reading through the links on this thread - http://www.frogforum.net/showthread.php?t=32167 - It will answer a lot of questions and save us from having to retype it all out again lol.
