Substrate?

I want to put either a Amazon milk frog or a red eyed tree frog haven't decide which one yet,what do you think?

Amazons are pretty cool, and from my knowledge easier to keep.

Good choice! I'm surprised they aren't more popular. I'd also suggest getting a few Amazon milks, as they like to cuddle together .

I know right?! You can probably comfortably fit 3 frogs in a tank that size.

Both of those frogs would do better with a live planted set up. I would use ABG mix, it can be ordered online at places like josh's frogs, NEHerp, Black Jungle, etc. Otherwise you can find a recipe to mix your own. I cover my substrate with leaf litter and live sheet moss to prevent any accidental ingestion. Have you considered converting the 29g to a vertical tank? You lose a lot of height doing a drainage layer and soil, and considering they're tree frogs, they like height! I had my 2 red eyes in a 20g high at first, it was not enough space/height for them to move about comfortably. They are now in a 24" tall tank and are thriving. Also, make sure to quarantine any new frogs you get.
