Hey all!
I have had tree frogs successfully for about 4 years now, wtf's and retf.
My seven year old kiddo wants an adf, so since I currently have a 10 gallon tank with some room for one, I think we'll go for it.
I do have a small bristle nose pleco (albino), he is a small pleco full grown at about 4 inches. And we also have 3 mystery snails.
I think we'll be fine adding the adf, but thought before we take the plunge I would ask the experts here!
The tank is in my son's room, which remains relatively quite most of the time.
My set up is fairly simple:
10 gallon tank
gravel substrate
several sword plants
a couple ornaments (spider man and sponge bob)
one cave that the pleco likes to hide in, so perhaps I should another hide for the adf?
low flow filter
canopy cover with light for the plants
Here are my questions:
1. would these parameters be suitable for an adf?
a. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, ~10-20 nitrates
b. 78 degrees F
c. pH of 7.5
2. I have seen conflicting info on the gravel, is this ok for an adf? Is there any risk of it injesting the gravel?
3. food should be frozen brine shrimp and blood worms? and frog pellets? can I feed anything else? What can I NOT feed?
I of course will be doing my homework before bringing home the frog, but anything else you all want to advise on I would really appreciate it!
Thank you!
