Then my guess is that it's a standard 37 gallon tank and he was just rounding up/down on the measurements. If so, it should be fairly easy to get a stand and lid for it. 37 isn't one of the most common sizes, so you won't find stuff at stores like walmart, but pet stores should either have or be able to order accessories to fit it.
