So I've had my African Bullfrog for about three months now and I've been feeding him crickets daily with vitamin powder several times a week. I'm planning to start feeding him more nutritious insects soon. I have been feeding him on a table and he'll eat up to 5 crickets before becoming uninterested. I recently started feeding him in a large bowl with some water and he now eats more than 10 crickets before becoming uninterested. I feed him for only fifteen minutes but usually he's done eating before that time. Is it normal, in personal experiences, for the frog to eat so much at this age? How much did your frog eat when young?
Also, it's probably too soon to determine gender but I'm guessing/hoping it's a male since it's been making small croaking/barking noises. What do you think about the croaking/barking? Does it look like a male or female? Thanks and enjoy the photos!
Anyone?
Very cute, healthy and nice baby frog
To me, it is a male.
concerning feeding, you can feed him every other day. But, try to make various food, not only crickets. Soon, this will not be sufficient for his growing process and could come to carency.
Feed also with Dubia roaches fitting with the frog size, red runner roaches and earthworms.
