Default Hi i'm Jae and i'm interested in breeding Phyllomedusa bicolor.

Hey there guys, like the title to this thread says, im Jae and im interested in Giant Waxy Monkey Frogs.

I've loved frogs and toads since i was very small. Living in the suburban parts of Atlanta Georgia we always had loads of North American Fowler's toads and tons of leopard frogs around our house.

For the most part, I've never really given owning frogs a thought because toads are so much more relaxed animals to care for. Plus frogs just seemed to be so 'springy' that taking one out of the enclosure at any point would be risky, as you could lose it in the blink of an eye.

But after doing some research on Monkey Frogs, I've learned that they really don't jump too much and prefer to climb. This makes me happy as a beginner tree frog keeper.

I've kept toads for awhile and my boyfriend and i have a small colony of Madagascar hissing roaches to use as feeders (nymphs of course).

But before i put a new animal in my care, i'd like to know some more about the type of enclosure it needs and more about its care requirements.

I actually havent picked out a breeder yet as i wanted to compare prices with health and quality of the animals first.

I'll have to buy a few enclosures for them. A friend of mine owns a private pet-store and builds vivariums.

He says that unless housed with frogs of similar size, the bi-color will eat its own kind. So i'd have to keep any offspring i have in separate enclosures..

And don't they have a /lot/ of tadpoles at a time?

I've searched around the forum a littlebit and theres no care sheet listed for bicolor :/
