Default Can Black eyed leaf frogs be housed with red eyed tree frogs? >>>

    Hey guys

I'm new to the forum so apologies if I have posted in the wrong section etc.

I have been keeping red eyed tree frogs for about 6 years now and have been researching if retf's can be housed with black eyed leaf frogs but unable to find anything. I know with frogs it's usually it's a big no no but as they are in the same family and their care is identical I wondered if this was possible or what the concerns would be if any at all?

If anyone could offer any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Jon

The answer is very simply - No --- Sorry
I must say --- I truly understand your desire to want to do this.
But "they" still say not to.
Specifically ~~~~ I'm referring to Agalychnis moreletii ( black eyed tree frogs ) and A callidryas ( red eyed tree frog ) .

Actually, they need slightly different temp settings.
The moreletii will want slightly lower temp.

My A moreletii has been a difficult species. In fact, my very most needy frog~~~ever~~~ and I have a few

    They are beautiful !!!!!

The reason I asked is because Agalychnis moreleti is almost never available here in the UK. What we do often have are variations of A. callidryas bred with different coloured eyes often called 'Black Eyed Leaf Frog' or 'Maroon Eyed Leaf Frog' (not to be confused with A.litodryas!). Therefore the frog the OP is referring might just be a different colour morph of A. callidryas and therefore fine to keep together.
If, on the other hand these are indeed A. moreleti, I'd love to know who's selling them!

I 2nd this. Theres also natural bacteria and parasites, food pecking order, would they come arcoss each other normally? Breeding time problems. That few fegree difference can lead to a miserable untimely death. Contact with the others fecal matter could cause sickness. Normal tank dominance order... the list goes on... tis a no no... we do it for the frogs living pleasure, not ours unfortunatly...

Ive seen so many disasters out there...ppl know of my misery with mixing and keeping it heathy with anoles and long tail grass lizards(a few hours a day). it gets old man especially for $4 lizards. Its a daunting labor even for seasoned keepers to do and yes, a general no no
