So we had a male retf, and then we got a second frog. I could hear calling at night, never really knew who it was or what not.

Well recently our original frog passed. Looked like he took a leap and didn't stick the landing. Broke something inside . So now all we have is the second frog. I have yet to hear the frog make a noise. Can it be male and not call? Or is it possible the first frog was exceptionally noisy and that's why I heard him 3 to 5 times a night?
