    Default Hello!

    Hey everyone,

I decided to join this super informative forum because my boyfriend and I decided to get two young White's Tree Frogs! The tank I ordered is on its way, now I just have to figure out the heating situation

I'm pretty much brand spanking new to owning amphibians, though I did own a fire-bellied frog as a child. I'm currently the owner of two betta fish and a Russian tortoise

Anyways, I'm stoked to learn all I can from you all.

Congratulations, welcome, and come check out the Tree Frogs section of the forum. Plenty of WTF owners here.

(Pst, having a good thermometer/ hydrometer helps with taking care of them a lot.)

Hello and welcome to frog forum !

The best way to heat a white's enclosure in my experience is a heat lamp. However, this will require more frequent misting.

Thanks for the welcome! I do have a pretty sweet temperature gun I use for my tortoise pen, so I'll be using that quite a bit probably!

What kind/wattage heat bulbs do you use? Do you use anything at night? I live in San Francisco without a real heater so I'm trying to figure out the night heat situation too. Need to keep the little guys toasty! I'll be using an exo terra tank that's 18x18x24 and I believe it comes with a canopy fixture. Any suggestions?

Welcome! Whites are the best ! I use a 75 watt exoterra day time lamp. Depends on how low temps get at night. I use a red heat lamp at night. Make sure you get healthy frogs! Preferably not from a big chain pet store, or you will have mite problems.

    Default Hello!

Welcome! ^_^ For chilly nights I use the red heat lamp. Otherwise temperatures here are fairly hot enough that a day heat lamp is often not necessary. I'm in Los Angeles. Cali love.
