Hi Guys:
Need some help. I am trying to make a 50-50 set up for my African Bullfrog. half aquatic half terrestrial. I have a 20 gallon long tank, and already have had a piece of 3/8 glass cut to act as a divider between the water and land portions. My question is how to secure the divider and seal it. I have bought aquarium silicone which should accomplish the sealing portion yet I am nervous on how to secure it in position. Any ideas to keep it upright ?
Thanks in advance.
I agree, the silicone will do the trick. I have used it several times to make dividers for my setups. When you use it, make sure you are in a well ventilated area, as it has a very strong chemical smell. I left my to harden for 24-48 hours just to make sure it was well set. Best of luck-and I would love to see some pictures when it's complete!
Thanks I will try to post a picture when its is completed.
well i think if read correctly she means hold it in place while applying the silicone. well when i built my 50/50 tank i used (GEL SUPER GLUE) applied to the top corners of the piece your trying to hold inplace because once super glue dries it is inert and non toxic that what we used to attach corals to rocks at the aquarium i used to work for hope that helps
Im in the process of doing the same thing same size tank just for California bullfrogs. Bf just used a small chip clip tied to a stick laid across the top of the tank ( chip clip clipped to class unitl it dries) and it worked well.
