    Default Adding a screen vent

Hey guys I need instructions on how to add a screen vent to my vivarium. I know it has been discussed on here before I just can't find the link for some reason. Thanks in advance!

Can you be a bit more specific? Size of tank? Size of vent? Normally, I would recommend using a DIY screen kit from Home Depot, but without knowing how big, it's hard to say.

Yea definitely it's a 20g long I already had the glass cut for the top but I know I'm going to have get a new one because I don't have room for a vent I was wanting to put the screen along the front here I was thinking something similar to the vents most people make when they build a vertical tank just on the top instead of the front

*this tank will be for dart frogs

Like Bill mentioned, you can use the kits most hardware stores sell. I personally use No See Um Mesh as it is very fine and won't let flies escape.

Yup. That, or mosquito netting. Same stuff, different name.

So I have the screen made and glass cut but I cannot for the life of me find hinges that I can add to the glass to open it. The glass is in two pieces down the middle so I need hinges that would be touching glass on both sides if that makes sense. Any ideas of where to find them? I went to home Depot and ace harware and they looked at me like I was crazy

I dont put a vent on my dart tanks. The air exchange done when opening to feed them or work with plants is enough in my opinion, but if you want a vent then doing the screen frame is the way to go.
