    Default Light cylce for darts

I was getting ready to set my lights on a timer and was unsure what type of light cycle they should have. Does it really matter too much? I would like to eventually breed them and I would assume that the light cycle length would play a major part in that.

Also I was wondering if I were to put "Lunar Lights" on the tank that only came on at night would that effect the frogs breeding routines? The lights would be blue.

    Thanks,

    Matt

I run my lights on a timer every day for 12 hours. My reasoning is that my frogs all come from on or very near the Equator, which means they get about 12 hours of daylight each day. Most of my dart frogs breed all the time. I've been tempted to try the Lunar Lights thing myself but never got around to it. However, I have a NAS for my home computer network (basically a hard drive on the network) that has bright blue LEDs shining from it very close to my imitator tanks and they have been laying eggs and raising tadpoles with no issues.

I also keep a 12 hour photo period for darts. I did the lunar light thing but the darts retreat to their homes at night so it is more of a novelty than anything. Now i only do it for my nocturnal frogs so i can spy on them.

Okay thanks for the info! I was just wanting to do the lunars as something to look cool not necessarily serve a purpose!

    Thanks again!

It definately looks cool having the blue glow all over the house.
Here is my R.amazonica viv day and night. It's much brighter than the camera makes it look.
