New frog is not eating

Hey guys I have a question, i got my tow baby Chacoan horned frogs from reptile expo yesterday, and they didnt ate anything so I force fed them both. I gave them small sheded mealworms, each of them got for two mealworms. One the albino is a bit bigger than my other pacman, the little one is as little as a coin. How do you think when will they start eating for themselves?

Force feeding a frog should only be a last resort. Frogs often take a while to adjust to a new envrionment. You should never be force feeding unless the frogs life is at risk if you dont. Mealworms have little nutrition and their shells are hard to digest. Earthworms should be the staple and they should be dye and chemical free

So how long should i wait till they start eating for them selves, a week, few days? How long? Thanks for the answers.

first things first. There is always a reason for a frog refusing food, let's figure that out. You force feeding them definitely didn't help much the case, but let's figure that out.

please answer all the questions below and post pics of the frog and its enclosure. Use photobucket or similar for uploading pics, we have problems lately with uploads directly to the site.


1. Size of enclosure
2. # of inhabitants - specifically other frogs and size differences
3. Humidity
4. Temperature
5. Water - type - for both misting and soaking dish
6. Materials used for substrate
7. Enclosure set up i.e. plants (live or artificial), wood, bark and other materials.
- How were things prepared prior to being put into the viv.
8. Main food source
9. Vitamins and calcium? (how often)
10. Lighting
11. What is being used to maintain the temperature of the enclosure
12. When is the last time he/she ate
13. Have you found poop lately
14. A pic would be helpful including frog and enclosure (any including cell phone pic is fine)
15. Describe frog's symptoms and/or recent physical changes; to include it's ventral/belly area.
16. How old is the frog
17. How long have you owned him/her
18. Is the frog wild caught or captive bred
19. Frog food- how often and if it is diverse, what other feeders are used as treats
20. How often the frog is handled
21. Is the enclosure kept in a high or low traffic area
22. Describe enclosure maintenance (water changes, cleaning, etc)

Humidity is about 75-80%. Temperature at night is about 24 celcius, and at day time about 25-26. Water dish inside and I'm misting every other day. I use heat mat to maintain the temperature. Both baby frogs are siting in the same spot for about 2 days. But one mourning I found my baby pacman the little one siting in water bowl and whenshe went out there was poop. And the older frog the albino once i got him he was in a shedding process. I'm living near forest in a calm city were almost no cars pass. I always open a window for fresh forest air , so I mean the taste of the air is like natures. I will try to pick some picktures bit later. based on what is answered. The frog looks healthy, that's good.

moss - is a huge impaction risk, you need to take it out and use coconut fiber instead ( plantation soil, Exo earth)
didnt quite get - you don't have both frogs in one enclosure, do you?

poop is always good!

albino - what kind of lights are you using, if any?

heat mat - where is it located?

temps are too low. You need 27-29C day, 25-26 night.
