jeez thats a short lifespan if thats the case (although old age is a way better ailment than MBD or whatever else this could be!) I'll look into that, I have to confess when i bought them i assumed they're lifespans were comparable (with proper care) to the tincs and FB toads I'd kept (and still have)

Dusting cycle is 1 X per week so about every other feeding now that they're full grown. I replace them every 6 months but I supposed its possible i waited a month extra on this batch (have since replaced them)

Oscar is doing a bit better it would seem, he can now pull his legs in and twitch both toes, before his legs were just limp behind him. He's very alert and even called a bit last night to his buddy
Has anyone had a frog get injured from amplexus? his tank mate is a bit bigger than him and sometimes he tries to pretend Oscar is a female. The day i found him i had just broken them up while fixing the filter.

video seems to be easier so heres their tank:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXLrbGFQ7xc

    and heres Oscar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1TVGXOuc_E

Im in the process of trying to find a vet, does anyone know of one in or around vancouver BC?

So I'm now suspecting that he has some sort of infection, it's hard to say for sure because of his mossy skin patterns by I think he's got a bit of a red ting now and he has a black spot on his side.
Oddly enough he seems to be getting stronger, I syringe fed him last night and this morning as I do think he's a bit underweight (no clue how long he's been harbouring this infection) but he's able to fight me when I pick him up which he couldn't before

-any one had a frog with similar signs?

    Well update on Oscar:
took him to king George animal hospital and had him checked, we're suspecting mal nutrition due to a greedy tank mate and a possible injury on top of that. Dr Pruss checked his reflexes etc and gave me some carnivore care food to start him on instead of the smushed up dusted crickets Id been feeding him. So at least another 2 weeks of syringe feeding by he has no signs of infection and looks like we have a good chance of making a recovery
his enegry is continuing to improve and today he started to try to climb the glass in his hospital tank

Im a newcomer myself so Hello hello all. Sorry to hear about your frog and it sounds like you know your stuff. Im glad your making some progress with his health returning. I know that in tincs and stuff hind limb paralysis is pretty commonly a sign of calcium deficiency so I wondered if that was it but it sounds like it may not have been. I have a question though. Pedialite bath? what how? Never heard of this, please explaine. It sounds like it could be useful in the future
