So i was reading in the reptiles keepers guide to horned frogs that most of the horned frog species eat other frogs in the wild. Would it be a good idea to set up a breeding tank for feeder frogs? Would it or would it not be a better diet?
Sounds fun, but remember other frog is prety hard to diagest so other fros should be fed like once a monh or so... But yeah that sounds nice. You can eve feed tadpoles to your frog. Just make sure that it isnt toads tadpoles.
Ummmmm, I really don't think that feeding a frog to your frog is a good idea.....I would stick to the occasional mouse as a treat

Harpactira pulchripes 0.0.1 (Golden Blue Leg Baboon Tarantula)
Ethics aside,I mean, you are on a frog loving forum, discussing breeding frogs to feed to another frog, which will offend people, yes, some horned frogs do feed on others in the wild. But, with all the much healthier choices you have to feed, and the little amount you would be feeding, it hardly seems worth it.

Are you going to raise colonies of the hundreds of species of insects, fish, frogs, crustaceans, mammals, and birds that your frog would potentially encounter and consume in his natural habitat? Or do you just like the idea of your frog eating another frog? Stick with the proven feeders and provide supplements per the recommended guidelines.
Unless you're going to be breeding the species of south American frogs your frog would eat in the wild I wouldn't do it. Nearly all frogs secrete some sort of toxin from your skin. If you introduce frogs to the diet that wouldn't be there in the wild you run the risk of potentially harming your frog.
Also, what are you going to do with the hundreds and maybe even thousands of tadpoles? Just cull most of them? That's not going to go over well on a frog loving forum.
Stick with feeders like nightcrawlers, crickets, and the occasional pinkie mouse. We know they work and work well, and your frog really doesn't need anything else.

Well thank you guys for the enlightening responses, I very much appreciate it, I was only looking out for the best way to take care of my pacmans.
These frogs have such a varied diet in the wild that we get these questions all the time. Some things just aren't safe or practical to feed them in captivity though.
